Led by Thenue Housing and CCG (Scotland) in partnership with Clyde Gateway, the mixed-tenure development will comprise 119 high-quality affordable homes for social rent alongside 54 for private sale led by CCG Homes.
The project, which has been supported by £19m of grant funding from Glasgow City Council, reflecting a shared commitment to creating sustainable, inclusive communities through innovative housing delivery and regeneration across the city region.
MU will work on behalf of CCG to install a dual-fuel utilities package, including making all necessary connections to a wastewater heat recovery district heating system, which will deliver space heating and hot water services through a centralised source rather than an individual water heater in the property.
MU has supported the delivery of three district heating systems across the Central Belt in recent years, with this latest system representing another key milestone in our commitment to providing tailored services that align with Scotland’s net-zero transition.
Councillor Ruairi Kelly, Convener for Housing and Development at Glasgow City Council, said: “It is great to see work beginning on this major housing development in Dalmarnock, which will bring so many high-quality new homes for sale and rent to an area which has benefited so much from regeneration in recent years. The French Street development will meet the needs of a wide range of people and families, with homes of between one and four bedrooms being built, and we are happy to be part of the partnership which will bring these much-needed new homes to the city.”
