Water Row, Govan
The multi-million-pound Water Row Regeneration is the latest phase of development that forms part of the ambitious regeneration of Govan town centre in Glasgow’s Southside.
A major part of this masterplan – which includes the upgrade of shopfronts as well as the creation of the new Govan-Partick Bridge over the River Clyde – is affordable housing, with the first phase comprising 92 mid-market rent homes and 6 commercial premises.
The £17m development, located near Govan Cross, was delivered by Main Contractor CCG (Scotland) on behalf of Govan Housing Association.
Arc-Tech MU delivered a turnkey, dual-fuel utilities package to support the development’s non-gas energy strategy. This included:
Electric:
- Design approval for new Electric mains and services
- Liaise with DNO and adopt IDNO, and carry out HV electric connection to the existing main
- Supply and Installation of HV mains cabling from POC to the new internal substation
- Supply and install a new 1MVA substation unit
- Supply and installation of 500m of LV mains cabling
- Supply and installation of new MSDB’s within the ground floor of each stairwell
- Supply and installation of 92No internal electrical services
- Excavate, backfill, and reinstate the joint bay for Electric POC as well as offsite track to bring the new electric mains to the site boundary
Water:
- Liaise with Scottish Water and carry out a mains connection to the existing SW main
- Supply and installation of 239m of mains water pipework
- Supply and installation of 6No 63mm Barrier pipe services
- Supply and installation of 6No 32mm Barrier pipe services to serve the commercial units
- Excavate, backfill, and the joint bay for Water POC as well as offsite track to bring new water mains into the site boundary
