Witch Road, Kilmarnock

Witch Road/ Witchill Road is located in the town centre of Kilmarnock and is the latest development to be delivered as part of East Ayrshire Council’s extensive, affordable housebuilding programme across the Local Authority region.

The new homes – 43 in total – have been developed in response to an identified housing need as figures project that the number of pensionable-aged people in East Ayrshire will increase by 18.5% between 2016 and 2041. As such, each property is designed as a one or two-bedroom bungalow that is specially adapted to support elderly residents whilst the development masterplan enables greater social inclusion with private garden areas and seating implemented throughout the site.

The project is the latest to have been undertaken as a result of East Ayrshire Council and CCG (Scotland)’s strategic affordable housing partnership with Arc-Tech MU now offering fully integrated, multi-utility services for our parent company in the support of various projects with further 50+ homes on-site on behalf of the Council leading into 2024.

Arc-Tech MU commenced initial phasing on-site in December 2021 with works beginning in March 2022.

The development was formally handed over in spring 2023 and was supported by a full multi-utility installation:

Gas:

Design approval for new Gas mains and services
Liaise with GT and adopt IGT and carry out gas connection onto existing main
Supply and installation of 358m of gas mains pipework from a connection location
Supply and installation of 43No gas services
Management of the gas diversion through the site

Electric:

Design approval for new Electric mains and services as well as HV/LV diversion works
Liaise with DNO and adopting IDNO and carry out LV electric connections onto existing main
Supply and installation of new HV & LV mains cabling
Supply and installation 43No electrical services
Supply and installation of service to a new pedestrian crossing

Water:

Liaise with Scottish Water and carry out mains connection onto existing SW main
Supply and installation of 303m of mains water pipework
Supply and installation of 43No 25mm water services
Supply and installation of 43No 32mm sprinkler services
